A veteran of the Indian Peoples Theatre Association (IPTA), Kuldip Singh is known for his sensitive and melodious treatment of his compositions for films like Saath Saath and Ankush. He has been associated with IPTA Mumbai for the last 32 years and he is currently the President of the Mumbai chapter. A versatile music director, he has composed music for numerous plays, teleserials, music albums and films.

His work with IPTA includes plays like Sufaid Kundali, Bakri, Dulari Bai, Moteram, Kabira Khada Bazaar Mein and others. Under his training and guidance the IPTA Music Choir has flourished for over 30 years and has produced singers like Murlidhar, Jaswinder Singh, Durga Jasraj and Kailash Kher to name a few.

Kuldip Singh has also composed music for almost all the notable Hindi theatre groups in Mumbai, including Nadira Babbar's Ekjute and Dinesh Thakur's Ank among others. Today he is undoubtedly the most sought after Music director in the Hindi theatre circles of Mumbai.\

 
       
 
   
 
   
Ramesh Talwar (Director)
 
   
A veteran of the Indian Peoples Theatre Association (IPTA), Ramesh Talwar is a senior stage actor and director. As a director, his mastery over theatre and films is more than evident. He continues to be a beacon of inspiration for young theatre aspirants since the days he started IPTA's ever-popular Inter Collegiate Drama Competition in 1972.

He has directed several IPTA plays including the very successful and evergreen Shatranj Ke Mohre, Tanhai starring Shaukat Kaifi, Sagar Sarhadi's Doosra Aadmi, Aakhri Sawaal, Apan To Bhai Aise Hain, Ratnakar Matkari's Lok Katha and Kashmakash. In the early phase of his career, he acted in several popular IPTA plays and even now the acting bug has not left him entirely!

The irrepressible director has taken Indian theatre to foreign shores in a way and on a scale never attempted before. He has created quite a niche for himself, directing generations of filmstars on stage from Jaya Bachan in Ma Retire Hoti Hai and Dr Mukta, Shatrughan Sinha in Pati, Patni Aur Main, Zeenat Aman in Chupke Chupke to Pooja Bhatt in Khubsoorat.

He was Chief Assistant Director to Yash Chopra in the major blockbusters, such as Daag, Deewar, Kabhie Kabhie, Kaala Pathar and Trishul. Later he became a director in his own right, with films like Doosra Aadmi, Basera, Duniya, Tera Naam Mera Naam and Saahibaan among others.

 
   
 
 
   
 
   
Shailli Sathyu (Lighting and Stage Designer)
 

Shaili Sathyu has worked with different theatre groups in Mumbai and Bangalore. She started working with IPTA as a child artiste but now mainly works as a designer for Hindi and English plays.

Some IPTA plays she has worked in - AGAR AUR MAGAR (Lighting design), KAIFI AUR MAIN (Lighting design), SARPHIRE (Costume design), KASHMAKASH (Set & Lighting Design), KABIRA KHADA BAZAAR MEIN (Production Design), SHEESHON KA MASIHA (Lighting Design).

Also designed costumes for for Ekjute’s PENCIL SEY BRUSH TAK directed by Nadira Zaheer Babbar, for Cutlery Bowl Productions' MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING directed by Imogen Butler-Cole, for Ekjute’s ITIHAAS TUMHEN LE GAYA KAANHA directed by Nadira Zaheer Babbar, for Theatre Unit and Space Theatre’s AN ACTOR DIES BUT (English) directed by Pt.Satyadev Dubey, for Theatre Unit’s BRAHMA VISHNU MAHESH (Hindi) directed by Pt.Satyadev Dubey.

Also done Set Design for Kaarvan Arts’ AAZAR KA KHWAB (Hindustani) directed by Farooque Shaikh, , Set Design and Lighting Operation for Sanket/BLT’s THE ROAD TO MECCA (English) directed by Prasanna
She has been associated with IPTA as its General Secretary since 2003.

Ashish Jha - Tabla Player
 
   
A well known tabla player in the Indian music industry, Ashish Jha is a Sangeet Alankar from Gandharv Maha Vidyalay. He is a highly respected musician who has worked with All India Radio and is also a life member of the Cine Musicians' Association.
As a tabla player, he has accompanied leading ghazal maestros such as Rajendra Mehta, Jagjit Singh, Hariharan, Ghansham Vaswani and Jaswinder Singh. He has also worked with many leading Hindustani classical vocalists and instrumentalists.
For the past 15 years he has been playing the tabla for live stage shows, films, and private music albums. He has performed in India, USA, Hong Kong, Mauritius and the Middle East.
 
       
 
   
 
   
Jitendra Thakur - Violinist
 
Trained for eight years at the Melbourne Halloween, Jitendra Thakur has been playing the violin for the past 15 years.
He has worked with leading music directors like R.D.Burman, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Ismail Darbar, Jatin-Lalit, Annu Malik, Shankar-Ehsan-Loy, Sukhwinder Singh, Illayaraja, Kuldip Singh, Rajesh Roshan and many more.
Jitendra has also performed as a Soloist and song violinist for singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Adnan Sami, Jaswinder Singh, Sapna Mukherjee, Alka Yagnik, Shaan, Sonu Nigam and others.
He has played for the overseas album of Shania Twain (UP) and Boy George. Also performed with Kazakhstan Leader in the show 'Gulzaraa'.
He has played the violin in popular Hindi films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Devdas, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Mohabbatein, Black, etc.
Apart from stage shows and films, Jitendra has also lent his talent to famous Television Advertisements for brands like Airtel (signature tune), Mastercard, Toyota Corolla, TATA Indigo, Pepsi and many more.
He has performed in musical and stage shows in India, USA, Canada, West Indies, South Africa, U.K., U.A.E and other countries.
 
       
 
   
 
   
Santosh Bajpai - Keyboard Player
 
   
A multi-talented musician, Santosh Bajpai has trained under Shri Manoj Bajpai (for Keyboard), Shri Kersi Gazdar at Trinity College of London (Mumbai) for piano as well as Bhatkhande Academy Lucknow.
He has performed in almost 1500 stage shows in India and abroad, with well-known singers like Anoop Jalota, Hariharan, Anuradha Paudwal, Jaswinder Singh, Talat Aziz, Pankaj Udhas, Bhupinder Singh, Sonu Nigam and many others.
Currently he is performing in stage shows of IPTA Mumbai - SHEESHON KA MASIHA and KAIFI AUR MAIN featuring Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar and Jaswinder Singh.
Apart from being a successful keyboard player, Santosh Bajpai also has his own band called Anand Musical Group since 1992. He has composed music for private music albums, tv serials and jingles. He also teaches students the keyboard, guitar, bass guitar and other instruments.
 
       
 
   
 
   
Suryakant Surve - Percussionist
 
Suryakant Surve has been actively working as a musician for the past 15 years. He has worked with well known musicians, singers and music directors like Sudhir Phadke, Pt. Jasraj, Hari Prasad Chourasia, Suresh Wadkar, Kuldip Singh, Padmaja Fenani and many others.
He has played percussion and rhythm instruments for groups like IPTA, Yuvak Biradari, Avishkar, Swar-Gandhar, Soham, Rang-Puhar and others.
Has performed as part of music shows in Dubai, Kenya, Tanzania, USA and India. Also performed at prestigious music events like the Ellora Festival, Pune Festival, Mumbai Festival and Banganga Festival.
 
   
 
 
       
    Ajay Mishra - Guitarist  
   
A Guitarist (Lid and Rhythm) and a Music Arranger, Ajay Mishra has been performing in stage shows for over 20 years in India and other countries, with Orchestra and Ghazal groups.
He has performed with leading singers like Sonu Nigam, Ravindra Jain, Bhupen Hazarika, Jaswinder Singh, Aadesh Srivastav, Babul Supriyo, Sukhwinder Singh, Mahendra Kapoor and many others.
Ajay Mishra has also been playing the guitar in stage shows like Sheeshon Ka Masiha, Ghalibnama and Kaifi Aur Main.
Apart from live shows, he has also worked as a musician with All India Radio, and has worked as a music arranger for Films, Television serials and private music albums.
